So you don’t think a four-year college or university is for you? That doesn’t mean that Spoon River College is not an option. One of the missions of community colleges — and especially SRC — is to train students to work in high-demand career fields. Through this process, we not only help you train for the job you want, but we also contribute to the success of area business and industry.

Career Programs at Spoon River College lead to an Associate in Applied Science degree and/or a variety of certificates. Career Programs are designed to prepare students for the workplace upon completion of the course of study. They are not designed for transfer to a four-year college. The college continually reviews area and regional economic and employment conditions to ensure that the programs will not only successfully train students for their chosen career field, but that they will meet the needs of area employers.
