The Spoon River College Foundation, which was established in 1979 to support the College’s Mission and its students, expends roughly a quarter of a million dollars annually on programs, facilities, and scholarships. To help fund these endeavors, the Foundation hosts a number of annual fundraising campaigns and events throughout the year.
In addition to the events below, #GivingSPOONday has been an annual day-of-giving fundraiser every #GivingTuesday since 2015, raising nearly $250,000 since its inception. The Spoon River College Community Chorus also produces a number of performances each year, and ticket sales help to fund scholarships. Please check the SRC Community Chorus page for more information!
Dinner at Macomb Outreach Center
For many years, the Celebrity Waiter Dinner took place annually at the SRC Community Outreach Center in Macomb. The themed dinner featured pre-dinner activities, a delectable dinner, lively entertainment, optional costume attire, and celebrity waiters competing to receive the highest amount of tips for the evening. The event was supported by over 50 volunteers. In more recent years, the SRC Foundation has produced a couple of murder mystery dinners. Net proceeds from the event were used to provide technology/furnishings for the Spoon River College Macomb campus and the Community Outreach Center – Macomb.
