    1. Complete the scholarship application by March 15, 2024 (application is now closed and will reopen in October 2024.)
    2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 3. Submit transcript — HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS MUST HAVE A 7TH SEMESTER TRANSCRIPT ON FILE!
    4. Note that all steps need to be completed by March 15, 2024 in order to ensure eligibility.
  • Once you complete the three step process according to the information supplied in the application, you will become eligible for all relevant scholarships.
  • Applicants will be notified of their status either way around mid-April.

PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise stated, scholarship monies are applied to a student’s SRC account (½ of award in Fall semester; ½ of award in Spring semester).  TO RETAIN A FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP, an award recipient will be required to submit a letter to the scholarship donor. The Foundation will notify all award recipients of when this letter is due (November) AND provide an acceptable template the recipient should use when writing the letter. These letters are then forwarded on to the donors by the Foundation. With a few exceptions, students must also possess and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Failure to comply will result in the revocation of the scholarship for the remainder of the academic year. Students must complete this process each year a student wishes to be considered for scholarship funding. Not all applicants will be awarded, and scholarship opportunities are subject to the availability of funds.

Dual Credit Scholarships

The SRC Foundation offers dual credit scholarships to assist eligible area high school students who want to begin earning college credit while still in high school. Scholarship awards are applied to a student’s account at SRC. If the account has been paid in full, the student will receive a refund check in the amount of the award. Preference will be given to those families with less than $65,000 gross annual income and a household totaling four or more people, but all may apply for consideration. Awards are subject to the availability of funds, and not all who apply will necessarily receive awards.

Awards are made after each semester begins. Application forms are available at www.src.edu/scholarships. Print off the forms, complete, and mail prior to the deadline to the SRC Foundation at the address listed on the form.  The entire application must be filled out; any field left blank will subject the application to disqualification.

These scholarships are limited to students attending SRC district high schools offering dual credit courses through Spoon River College. For more information,  call the Foundation at (309) 649-6395 or email the Foundation.
