Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Mental Health Technician Trainee at the Shapiro Center located in Kankakee, Illinois. The incumbent will, for a period of time from six and not to exceed twelve months, receives training and instruction and performs entry level, routine personal care services, educational, social, vocational and therapeutic activities in the treatment and habilitation of intellectually disabled individuals at Shapiro Center. Attends formal classes for instruction in routine nursing practices and techniques to gain basic understanding in nature, cause, treatment and habilitation of intellectual disabilities. Ensures compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health requirements when performing duties.

Essential Functions
• For a period from six (6) and not to exceed twelve (12) months, receives training and instruction and performs entry level, routine personal care services, educational, social, vocational and therapeutic activities in the treatment and habilitation of intellectually disabled individuals at Shapiro Center.
• Receives training in the Interdisciplinary Team process and assists under direct observation, in the implementation of the active treatment/daily activity schedule on the programmatic unit.
• Through direct observation, achieves familiarity with each individual’s sensory, medical and physical condition.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly unit by performing general housekeeping tasks, such as spot mopping, cleaning spills, wiping tables and making of beds and lifting up 50 pounds.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications
• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.

Mobile Locomotive Mechanic Job Description

Job Summary
The Mobile Locomotive Mechanic inspects, repairs, and maintains locomotives consistent with company policies and FRA regulations, and perform mechanical related maintenance as required. 

This position will travel to railroad properties within the Watco Network to assist with repairs as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide a level of customer service consistent with company expectations
• Obtain working knowledge and proper use of gauges and testing equipment
• Complete written documents for any necessary FRA reports pertaining to mechanist job duties
• Able to become qualified service engineer certificate related to FRA inspections and regulations 
• Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Observe mechanical devices in operation to identify issues
• Dismantle devices using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools to remove, repair or replace defective parts
• Record hour meter readings for inspections and preventative maintenance repair
• Check locomotives for air-fuel, oil, water, exhaust leaks, etc. clean as needed
• Inspect safety equipment, securing bolts and pins as required
• Clean and lube screens, strainers and traps
• Check locomotives for defects, damage, leaks, etc, in accordance with company standards
• Perform main bearing checks and air brake tests according to specifications
• Perform emergency repairs and re-railing of railroad rolling stock
• Inspect wheels according to wheel inspection report
• Basic knowledge of welders, torches, hammers, jacks, pneumatic, hand tools, forklifts and cranes

Mobile Locomotive Mechanic Job Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications
• Must be able to pass and or obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications required for this position, such as troubleshooting and repair of motors, generators, and transformers
• Must possess valid driver’s license and be insurable by company insurance provider
• Have or be able to obtain Class B CDL
• Have the ability to become a qualified Service Engineer according to FRA regulations
• Able to complete a three-year Railroad Apprenticeship, if required

Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Physician Specialist, Option D for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois to serve as a staff psychiatrist. Clinically directs a caseload on an assigned inpatient pavilion on an assigned shift serving patients living on an assigned inpatient pavilion. Provides treatment to a caseload of patients on the assigned pavilion. Provides clinical direction to staff involved in direct care. Provides back-up coverage of other pavilions. Serves as a member of the medical committees, pavilion and program meetings, case evaluation, audit, and utilization review committee to provide psychiatric expertise in the areas of treatment, development, etc. Signs certificates for involuntary patient admissions and testifies in court. The Division of Behavioral Health & Recovery (DBHR) is seeking to hire a Clinical Psychologist for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois, responsible for communicating to treatment teams the results of, and will provide treatment recommendations based on: (1) administration of psychological assessments (intellectual, personality, and neuropsychological screenings) and/or (2) an assessment of historical and clinical risk factors. For those patients that are dually diagnosed as, or for whom a dual diagnosis of mental illness and developmental or intellectual disability is suspected, the clinical psychologist will communicate the results of intelligence testing to the treatment team, especially at the time of the comprehensive and/or annual treatment planning collaborations.

Essential Functions
• Performs psychological assessments to address specific questions and/or purposes on an assigned unit.
• Develops and implements behavior management plans to assist patients in the acquisition of new skills/adaptive behavior and the elimination or reduction of maladaptive behavior.
• Assesses patients, forensic or civil, who is known or suspected to be dually diagnosed (MI/ID) for intellectual and adaptive functioning skills and provides professional reports upon admission or as soon as possible after any psychiatric or medical barriers to testing have been addressed.
• Conducts group and/or individual psychotherapy and documents treatment in the clinical record.
• Testifies in criminal and/or mental health court hearings. Travels in the performance of job duties.
• Provides facility wide professional trainings.
• Serves as adjunct member of all treatment teams, participates in treatment planning conferences and professional reports and reviews making recommendations based on clinical expertise, testing and case reviews.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an independent, highly organized, and detail-oriented licensed Registered Nurse for the Shapiro Center located in Kankakee, Illinois. This position will be responsible for performing direct nursing care for people with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. The successful candidate shall demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, and be able to carry out nursing assignments pursuant to the direction of medical personnel.

Essential Functions
• Provides professional nursing care to individuals served on an assigned shift.
• Provides work-related guidance, instructions and explanations to lower-level nursing staff and other direct support staff in the care of individuals, injury reduction, health and safety, hygiene, treatment, procedures and the use of equipment.
• Attends treatment team meetings to update the Interdisciplinary Team on changes in medical status, additional medical needs and completes paperwork to document medical information in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Performs quality assurance activities including conducting audits and preparing Infection Control Reports.
• Attends training to keep abreast of latest nursing techniques and concepts.
• Serves as Center-wide medical/nursing resource on the assigned shift during the absence of other professional nursing personnel.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Conditions of Employment
• Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays on a rotation basis.
• Requires the ability to serve on an on-call basis.
