Biography:
Erik Kotewa is a life-long runner who has coached the distance track squad at Lewistown High School since 2023. He has three kids that run Cross Country in College, High School and Jr. High. It seems “running is life” during most times of the year. His wife was also the Jr High Cross Country coach at Lewistown. Kotewa was introduced to running by his high school coaches Todd Hersey and Bob LaCroix and ran at State two seasons. He ran at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, Cross Country and Track in the 8k, 1,500 and 3,200 meter Steeple Chase. While at Millikin he studied Commercial Music and graduated with a BA in Political Science. After graduating he attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a Masters in Policy Economic. The Chicago Marathon in 2008 is his one extended race finishing in 3hrs 2mins.
