IMPORTANT FAFSA INFORMATION FOR INCOMING STUDENTS
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission is suspending the announcement of the 2025-2026 Monetary Award Program (MAP) grants for applicants whose initial 2025-2026 FAFSA ®is received by the FAFSA Processing System (FPS) or whose initial Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid (Alternative Application) is received by ISAC after THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 2025.
What does this mean?
While MAP Awards are being suspended at the end of the week, we encourage students who are contemplating college this fall to complete a FAFSA or, for qualifying students, the Alternative Application BY THURSDAY, JUNE 5, so they can be considered for this aid.
In addition, students who meet the eligibility requirements for federal Pell Grants can still receive that funding for fall, and there may be other ISAC grant and scholarship programs, as well as those provided by institutions, that continue to have funding available.
