Spoon River College continues to stay up-to-date with reports from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak.

Currently SRC is operating in accordance with current orders and proclamations from the State of Illinois.

Employees and students at Spoon River College may be on campus regardless of vaccination status. The Illinois Executive Order requiring most employees and students to report vaccination or weekly COVID-19 testing was rescinded on July 12, 2022.

SHIELD testing is no longer provided at SRC.

Faculty may continue to require masks be worn in their classes; staff and faculty may continue to require masks be worn in their office/work stations.

Some employees and students in healthcare settings may still need to submit documentation to clinical sites.

Reports by students with COVID-19 are now being treated as normal sick requests.  Students will work with their faculty to plan coursework.

The CDC has streamlined COVID-19 guidance.  Individuals who were exposed to COVID-19 (regardless of vaccine status) are no longer required to quarantine.  Instead, individuals who were exposed should wear a mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5.

Members of the college community are strongly encouraged to educate themselves on the guidance provided by the CDC regarding protecting themselves and others to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and all infectious Diseases.
