Your Future is Our Focus
The Spoon River College Foundation has been “keeping your future as our focus” for 30 years. The Foundation exists solely to support the students and mission of Spoon River College by securing additional resources for scholarships and facility/technology upgrades.
Foundations for community colleges are rare, but the Spoon River College community began supporting the college back in 1979. Since only 2000, the Foundation and the college have provided over three quarter of a million dollars for scholarships and college programs, faculty research, facility and technology upgrades, and community projects.
In the past 30 years, hundreds of students have been able to achieve their educational goals because of scholarships awarded through the Foundation. Our faculty has been supported in research activities through funds awarded by the Foundation and SMART state-of-the-art technology classrooms have been installed throughout our district.
Contributions to the Foundation come in many ways, through donations, naming rights opportunities, grants, personal or organizational scholarships, fundraising activities, planned gifts, Employee Campaigns and so much more. Our current endowment is over one million dollars and we hope to double that endowment within the next five years.
The Foundation has provided furnishings and technology for the college’s new facilities in Havana, Macomb, Canton and Rushville. Donor Walls and recognition signage have been constructed in these facilities to recognize those donors without whom the facilities would not have been possible.

By January 1st, we will have a DONATE NOW button for those desiring to contribute to our 501(c)3 corporation online.
