Nursing is Part of the Health Science Career Cluster
The Nursing Program offers many opportunities for individuals to have a rewarding career in the nursing field. The high demand for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses makes Spoon River College a great place to start your journey to a worthwhile career.
The SRC program features an option of completing a Practical Nursing certificate at the end of the first year, affording the individual eligibility to take the Practical Nursing licensing examination.
Students may continue to the second year of the program and, after completion, be eligible to receive an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and sit for the Registered Nurse licensing examination.
The Spoon River College Nursing program prepares the student to become eligible to take the required NCLEX-PN or NCLEX-RN test. The program does not guarantee the graduate will become a practical nurse or registered nurse.
