POLICY: Spoon River College maintains an official presence on several social media platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube. These accounts are produced, maintained, and monitored by the Marketing Department.
All users are welcome and encouraged to share content on Spoon River College's social media pages. Comments, links, photos, and videos are welcome but should be relevant to the Spoon River College Community.
SCOPE:
This policy applies to all Spoon River College employees, students, and visitors.
DETAILS:
Comments or posts made to College accounts can be removed for any of the following reasons, at any time, if they:
Target a person or people based on their race, nationality, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or political beliefs;
Include hate speech, nudity, defamation to a person or people, infringe on intellectual property;
Use of threatening, harassing, or obscene language;
Disclose information that is confidential by law or regulation;
Promote or advocate illegal activity;
Violate trademarks or copyrights;
Are solicitations, SPAM, unsolicited self-promotion, or commercial advertising;
Endorse or oppose anyone campaigning for election to a political office; or
Are determined to be off-topic, inappropriate, excessively repetitive, and/or disruptive to our online community and our social media efforts.
Content posted by other users on Spoon River College’s social media pages does not necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the College. Links to other websites should not be construed as an endorsement of the organizations, entities, or views and content therein.
By posting content to Spoon River College’s social media pages, users acknowledge and understand that this information is available to the public, and that the material may be used by other users in ways that are beyond the control of the College.
