POLICY: The Spoon River College Policies and Procedures Manual is a comprehensive text that details all aspects of College policies, the procedures for following those policies, and the forms required for the procedures.

The Policies and Procedures Manual can apply to employees, students, or visitors; therefore, the scope of each policy may vary. Refer to the individual policy to determine its scope.

Disclaimer: Spoon River College, at its discretion, reserves the right to make changes to the policies, procedures, and other statements made in this policies and procedures manual. Federal and state law and organizational needs are constantly in flux and may require that all or portions of the manual be revised. This version supersedes all previous versions of the Policies and Procedures Manual. Questions about these policies should be directed to the Human Resources Director.
Not an Employment Contract: The policies in the Policies and Procedures Manual are not intended to create a contract and are not an offer to enter into a contract. These policies do not establish contractual rights for employment or any employment benefit. The policies are not to be construed to constitute contractual obligations of any kind, or a contract of employment between Spoon River College and any employee. Employment of “at-will” employees (as defined in the Employment Relationship Policy may be terminated at any time by either the employee or the employer with or without cause.
No Guarantee of Employment: No commitment for employment for any specified duration, including “lifetime” employment, shall be valid or binding on the College unless expressly set forth in a written document and signed by both the employee and by the Board of Trustees or the President.
