For eight years, he was the Illinoi Coaches Associations baseball chairman and the director of the annual East/West State All-Star game for graduating high school seniors. He was also named Man of the Year by the Illinois Coaches Association in 1992.

In his coaching career, he has had the privilege to coach the following major league players: Joe Girardi, Brian Shouse, Jim Thome, Bryan Rekar, Mike Grace, and Rob Scahill.

As a Spoon River graduate, Coach Dyke is looking forward to the opportunity to make the Snappers a strong, competitive team in the very tough M-WAC conference.
