What short-term certificate or credentialing opportunities are available?
You may be attempting to get back into the workforce just as soon as possible. We have a number of state and nationally recognized certifications or credentials you can achieve and they will put you “on the avenue” to success.
Once your certificate is complete, you will have evidence in hand that proves you have the skills and knowledge needed for current or future employment success.

The ACT National Career Readiness Certificate provides evidence that you have basic skills needed for 65-85% of the entry level jobs in this country. Many employers are using this as a screening tool when considering who to interview.
The American Management Association is nationally recognized for its excellence in training today’s professionals. Two that we offer may be of particularly interest to those 50 and over. They are the AMA Professional Assistant Certificate & AMA Human Resources Certificate.
We offer Microsoft Office classes online. In partnership with Ed2Go, Spoon River College offers a wide range of highly interactive courses that you can take entirely over the Internet. A certificate of completion will be provided to you after successful completion of each class you take.
Certification in Food Service Sanitation is available. Students learn food service operation and prepare for the IL State Examination for the 2012-2013 food service schedule.
The Illinois Association of Realtors Licensing & Training Center at Spoon River College schedules classes for those interested in becoming realtors/brokers and for those currently licensed seeking continuing education.
