-Presenter Dave Okey Coming To Spoon River College

“LIFE IN CREATING ANIMATED FILMS” PRESENTER DAVE OKEY COMING TO SPOON RIVER COLLEGE

Dave Okey is a highly-praised and respected member of the international community that creates animated feature films.  He will be presenting at Spoon River College on October 25 and 26.

Mr. Okey has worked for the past 18 years at animation studios that include Walt Disney Feature Animation and has contributed at various stages of production management to such celebrated animated films as Tarzan, Toy Story 2, Home on the Range, Bambi II, and Gnomeo & Juliet.  His presentations will explain the basics of the film-making process and highlight his experiences in this fascinating industry.

The public is invited to attend either his full presentation on Friday, October 26 at 9:00 a.m. in Engle Hall on the Canton campus of Spoon River College or a “meet and greet” session from 12:15 – 12:45 p.m.

Both presentations are offered at no charge but reservations to (309) 647-6260 are appreciated.

Mr. Okey will also be presenting in two classes on Thursday, October 25 in Canton and Havana.  Dave Okey is the brother of SRC English instructor Doug Okey.

Mr. Okey is appearing courtesy of the SRC Foundation and the program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, and the Two Rivers Arts Council, a regional arts organization.
