Employability Skills Centers
The Spoon River College Office of Community Outreach Employability Skills Centers offer career exploration, interest profiling, technology skill enhancement, resume writing, interview skills, and job search, which
includes researching job demand and income potential in regions of Illinois.  A variety of resources will be utilized at the Centers including Illinois WorkNet, ACT WorkKeys, Key Train and Career Ready 101, face to face soft skill training, Ed2Go internet-based short-term classes, and Microsoft Office software classes. The Employability Skills  Centers are
managed by SRC Technology Coordinator, Andrea Barbknecht. Open hours for the Center are listed below.  Pre registration is required and you can come anytime between the listed hours.  Fee: $5 per session

Microsoft Excel 2010 (Level II)
If you know the basics of Excel, you’ll learn more about relative and absolute values, creating formulas,
using functions, and working with multiple worksheets.  You’ll also learn the exciting features of Microsoft
Office 2010, including the File tab and backstage view, e-mailing from an Excel document, and inserting screenshots!  Fee: $30

With the right applications, the iPad can be a tremendous asset to your business and your daily life!  Whether you’re already using an iPad or are considering purchasing one, this class is for you! Join us to learn what apps are out there, which ones give you the best “bang for your buck,” and other time-saving terms, tips & tricks!  Fee: $30

Spoon River College in partnership with Elam Private Detective Inc. has developed a course that will give you the basics of the Illinois Concealed Carry Law. The class is designed for anyone with an interest in the law and how it affects them with an emphasis on the affects for business owners/operators. Some topics of discussion will include: scenarios that help demonstrate an understanding of the law and the rights and
responsibilities of business owners/operators.  Feel free to
bring your own lunch to this presentation. Drinks will be provided by Spoon River College.  Call Elam to register at 309-647-5860.  Fee:  $30
