From 11 a.m.-Noon, participants can gather information at the Job Expo.  There will be several area employers with tables for the public to visit and gain hiring information. Macomb - Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Rehabilitation Services and Spoon River College Office of Community Outreach

are teaming up to host an Employment Resources Expo featuring an Employer Panel on Friday, June 21st from 10 a.m.-Noon.  This event will be held at the Spoon River College Community Outreach Center located at 2500 E. Jackson St. in Macomb. 
 
The purpose of the Employment Expo is to provide an informative community event which will increase public knowledge about employment and employers in McDonough County.  Approximately 150-200 people are expected to attend this two hour event. 
 
Several employers from the Central Illinois area will be on site. A panel discussion on business information, hiring processes, current openings, and suggestions for future potential employees will take place from 10-11 a.m.

Some employers may provide applications and conduct interviews on-site.  Members of the community looking for employment or for a change in employment, as well as students and alumni from Spoon River College and other area colleges and universities, are encouraged to attend. 
 
Andrea Barbknecht, from the SRC Employability Skills Center, recommends that anyone who may be seeking a job or considering a job change in the near future attend the expo.  “This is an excellent opportunity for prospective employees to see what career opportunities are available in this area,” says Barbknecht. “There will be employers from different lines of employment present.”
