Canton - The Spoon River College Office of Community Outreach announces June hours for the Canton Employability Skills Center.
Saturday morning hours are available by appointment for those wishing to practice KeyTrain in preparation for taking the WorkKeys tests, or for other employment-related questions and trainings.
The SRC Employability Skills Center offers job-building skills opportunities for those seeking employment or wanting to advance in their current fields. Center programs include interest/skills surveys and job/career information through the Illinois WorkNet system; career-specific classes and certificates; one-on-one counseling services; basic work and life skills; and the ACT National Career Readiness Certificate.
The Employability Skills Center is coordinated by Andrea Barbknecht, the Technology Coordinator for the SRC Outreach Center. This program is funded by a grant from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s “Eliminate the Digital Divide” program.
The Centers are also open in Canton, Macomb, Havana, and Rushville by appointment on weekdays. Computers in the Centers’ technology labs may be reserved as well. Contact Andrea at 309-647-5886 or firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment.
