-The 12th Retirees Learning Institute (RLI) was held at the Canton Campus of Spoon River College on Friday, October 26!

Canton – The 12th Retirees Learning Institute (RLI) was held at the Canton Campus of Spoon River College on Friday, October 26.  Approximately 150 participants, presenters, and vendors attended the event for a day of learning and fun.  The RLI was co-sponsored by MidAmerica National Bank and featured 17 informational sessions throughout the day.  
 
“This was my first Retirees Learning Institute,” said Martha Harr who retired from teaching at the end of the 2011-12 school year.  “Not only was it great fun, this retired teacher gained new knowledge.  One of my favorite activities was the session on Laughter.  I am looking forward to coming back to the Spring Institute.”

A soup and sandwich buffet was catered by the SRC Sandbar Café.  Attendees were assisted by SRC students. 
 
Resource Fair sponsors staffed booths and provided door prizes.   Sponsors included Advanced Rehab and Sports Medicine, Canton Family YMCA, Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center, Courtyard Estates of Canton, Harbor Light Hospice, Heartland Health Care Center of Canton, InTouch Home Care of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, and Western Illinois Home Health and Managed Home Services.
