We offer online classes that are convenient and work with YOUR schedule. Hundreds of courses are available for you to choose from. Online courses are informative, fun, convenient, and highly interactive. ​


 SRC & Education To Go (Ed2Go) Online Courses


In partnership with Ed2Go, Spoon River College offers a wide range of highly interactive courses that you can take entirely over the Internet. All of our courses include expert instructors, many of whom are nationally known authors.

  • All courses run for six weeks (with a two-week grace period at the end). Courses are project-oriented and include lessons, quizzes, hands-on assignments, discussion areas, supplementary links, and more. You can complete any of these courses entirely from your home or office and at any time of the day or night.

  • Examples of classes include: Grant Writing, Accounting Fundamentals, Speed Spanish, Communicating Like a Leader, Managing Customer Service, Grammar Refresher, Keys to Effective Communication, Creating Web Pages, and more.

  • Requirements: All courses require Internet access, e-mail, the Netscape Navigator, or the Microsoft Internet Explorer. Some courses may have additional requirements.

  • Class sessions begin the third Wednesday of EACH month.

 SRC & Education To Go (Ed2Go) Career Training Programs


In partnership with Ed2Go, Spoon River College offers top-quality educational experiences for students in career-oriented fields of study. These online programs are designed to provide the workforce skills necessary to enter a new field or advance your current career.

  • Online Career Training Programs are open enrollment, so you can start anytime — and the beauty of online learning is that you can work at your own pace anytime and anywhere.

  • Examples of classes include: AutoCAD2011, Legal Secretary, Non-Profit Management, and Six Sigma.  

  • Requirements: All courses require Internet access, e-mail, the Netscape Navigator, or the Microsoft Internet Explorer. Some courses may have additional requirements.

  • All textbooks and learning support materials are included in the program at no additional cost to you.

  • We will work with you and offer financial assistance options and very low down payments to ensure that learning is always within your reach.

 SRC & American Management Association (AMA) Online Courses


​In partnership with AMA, Spoon River College offers self-study courses that bring up-to-date, real world solutions for today's business challenges.  You get the latest management information, "how-to" explanations, practical examples, and real solutions to daily challenges.

Individuals, corporations and institutions can all benefit from these time proven materials.  Each course is filled with exercises relating the underlying theory to your every day work environment.  Our approach to the material enables students to immediately apply their course work to their job.  

The courses are self paced; there are no instructors.  The time it takes to complete a course will vary between students.  As a general guideline, each Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit represents approximately 10 hours of study time.   Individual courses must be completed within 12 weeks of enrollment.  Certificate programs must be completed within 52 weeks of enrollment.

Examples of classes include:  Fundamentals of Human Resources Management, Communication Skills for Managers, Total Quality Management, Fundamentals of Purchasing, Certificate in Human Resources Management, Certificate in Sales and Marketing Management, Certificate in Supervision, and more.

Requirements:  All courses require Internet access and browser, e-mail and Acrobat Reader.  Some courses may have additonal requirements.

 SRC & LERN "UGotClass" Online Courses


In partnership with LERN, Spoon River College offers online certificates and courses through UGotClass. These online certificates and courses are provided by quality colleges and associations with expert instructors. Participate anytime day or evening, from any computer.

  • Most courses are offered 4 times a year.  Classes start the first Monday of each month.  You can participate anytime of day or night.  It's ideal to go online 2-3 times a week, but YOU decide. 

  • Examples of classes include:  LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation, Entrepreneur Boot Camp, Recruiting and Retaining Gen X and Gen Y, Cyber Security for Managers, Google Analytics, The Business Plan, Twitter, YouTube for Business, Creating Cell Phone Apps for your Business, Certificate in Customer Service, eMarketing Essentials Certificate, Supervisory & Leadership Certificate, and more.

  • Requirements:  All courses require Internet Access with Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari web browser.  Audio software such as Windows Media, Real, QuickTime, or Flash as well as speakers to hear audio.   

  • In a UGotClass online classroom you will listen to audio lectures, view slides, and even take an optional quiz to test yourself.  You can participate in online discussion with fellow students and your instructor will log on once a day to answer questions and join in on the discussion.
