You need to apply once a year in the Spring, for the following fall, by visiting the SRC Financial Aid office or by going online and filling out the application at www.FAFSA.ed.gov. The Financial Aid office is located in Centers on the Canton campus and on the main level in Macomb.
If you tested into developmental courses it means that your skill level is not at college level. The reading, writing and math courses are available to help you bring your skill level up. These courses will help you be successful in the college courses required for completion of your program or certificate.
As soon as you realize that you can't take a class you have registered for, please visit the Student Services office and fill out a withdrawal form, officially withdrawing from the class. It is also recommended that you see an advisor before dropping a class. Your financial aid could be affected. Students can drop courses with a refund during the first week of the semester. First, you can utilize the resources identified in this online orientation. There were many services identified from math assistance, to computer usage, to study skills and advisement – take advantage of those services. They are there to help you achieve your goals and they are FREE! Second, if you aren't quite sure you can visit your advisor, the Student Success Coach in either Canton or Macomb can help you identify your area of need and refer you.
The Career Services Center can assist you toward finding a full or part time job. The Center can also help with creating resumes, job search techniques, and interview questions. Work study positions are also available for students on the Canton or Macomb campuses.
