Searchable Grant Databases

Grants.gov - This database is the federal government's site that centralizes the grant-making efforts of 26 federal agencies.  This site has both a "Find" side to help potential applicants identify funding opportunities and an "Apply" side where applicants submit their electronic proposals.

National Science Foundation - From the NSF Home Page, you can access information on NSF funding opportunities in a variety of ways (keyword, due dates, etc.)

National Endowment for the Arts - Federal agency funds for grants in the arts.

National Endowment for the Humanities - Federal agency funds for grants in humanities disciplines.

U.S. Department of Education - Federal education programs.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Federal funding opportunities. 

U.S. Department of Labor - Federal funding opportunities.

The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) - The online catalog give you access to a database of all Federal programs available to State and local governments; domestic public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions. 

Arts and Humanities in Rural America - This site has multiple databases for different arts resources.

The Foundation Center - This site allows you to find and research all types of foundations.  It also gives you access to 990 forms filed by the foundations which will show who they have funded in the past year.

Funds Net Services - This is a database of foundations that can be sorted from topic to type of foundation.

Tech Learning Grants and Contests  - This site allows you to search for education technology grants.

Technology News Higher Education Grants - This site can be used to find higher education technology grants.

GuideStar - To use this site you must register (no cost required). You are able to look up information about different Foundations such as their giving history, including 990 forms.

2000 Census - All types of demographic information you might need to complete a grant application.

Census Scope - Demographic information that can be sorted by City, County or State. Quickest way to find most used demographic statistics.
